You kids that can break cell phones and get a new one by snapping your
fingers... You kids that can get elected as the class president, but
have no intention on actually doing anything while you're in office...
You kids that complain about your teacher not giving you an extra
credit opportunity when you neglected to take up the first chance
because you didn't need it at the time... Realize your luck. You were
born of parents that cared enough to spoil you. You were born not
having to know what responsibility could do for you in your future. You
never knew that repeated carelessness eventually would cause pain. If
only you could step back and look into your life through the eyes of
someone less fortunate. If only you knew what suffering actually was,
instead of believing that a day without a cell phone was a sign of the
apocalypse. If only you knew that talking to someone to cope with your
feelings would be more effective than drinking yourself into a coma. If
only you knew that talking to that quiet kid that everyone called a
"goth freak" would've actually prevented him from committing suicide.
Learn to care. Learn to appreciate. Learn... to love.
