Heeeey we had a the same thing happen on tues/thurs too! just, minus the heroine death. That's always so weird when someone dies. A few months ago we had a football player named Mo crash his car into a tree. One kid crawled out the back; the other kid and Mo stayed more or less wrapped around the tree until the police came. The other kid, the one who was still stuck in the car, is actually in a coma right now, has been since the fall. We're more or less kept in dark about him, i think the principals would like us to just learn from it and forget....Anyhow, Mo was muslim, so no one was really allowed to attend his funeral (he was a football player so that upset quite a few people) so instead, someone came in with chalk one day and drew a giganitic, beautiful mural on his parking space. When it washed off, they had all of his friends dip their hands in paint and put their handprint on there, and all of those are still there even now. It's funny, you know, you'll be in math class and you'll open your calculator, and someone will have sharpied it with 'Remember #49, MO'. That phrase has shown up everywhere recently, in bathrooms, on lunch tables (i sat in his seat for studyhall, no matter how hard that poor old lunch attendant scrubs, she'll never get off all the stuff that his friends wrote for him off that table, that'll be there until they get rid of those tables and that'll happen when pigs fly), there's even a group of his old friends that have t-shirts that they wear with his name and his number on them. Maybe it's so rare around here that it hits us harder, but our school was dead for weeks. Anyhow, i hope you guys bounce back faster than we did; it's never easy.
